That’s why we changed our name in December, to one that reflects our focus on putting our customers first.
Our new look represents who we are – an organisation that is approachable and cares for its customers, and our strapline ‘invested in you’ continues to demonstrate this commitment.
We will continue to support the education community and remain driven by the same care and compassion as when we started in 1972.

In 1972, our 48 founders created an organisation, owned entirely by its customers, that cared about people
and what they did for the community and not simply how much money they made. Today we now serve
over 100,000 customers and are proud to be driven by the same care and compassion as when we started.
Over the past 12 months we conducted extensive market research, which included 1:1 interviews, quantitative research and focus groups, showing that many educators believed they could not bank with us as they were not ‘teachers’ and many others did not consider banking with us as they did not understand what a ‘mutual bank’ was.
We wanted an inclusive name that resonated with both existing and new customers that reflected our commitment to putting customers first. Therefore, after careful consideration, the decision was made by the Board of Directors to change our name to ‘Bank First’.

Our new logo is based on the Australian native ‘powerful owl’; which is most prominent in the South East of Australia. It symbolises wisdom and knowledge and recognises our teaching heritage.
Our strapline ‘ínvested in you’ continues to demonstrate our commitment to our customers.
In early December 2017, our name and logo was replaced with ‘Bank First’. This included online such as our website and online banking systems as well as marketing material. Our new website address is bankfirst.com.au.
Our organisation has changed its brand many times over the past 40 years, while always maintaining its values and commitment to putting customers first.
Our proud heritage of supporting teachers and the education community will remain unchanged. We will continue to support all the same organisations through sponsorships, donations, grants, awards and our very own Teaching Initiatives Program.
We continue to be a strong, customer owned organisation that is committed to our customers and the education community.
Our phone number and BSB remain the same. All credit and debit cards, cheque and deposit books remain active until they are due for renewal, at which time, they will be replaced with the ‘Bank First’ brand. Your PINs and passwords also remain the same. Our products will not change. Any email sent to our previous ‘@victeach’ email are redirected to our new email.
